Equine Water Treadmill, Livery & Fitness Rehabilitation

Before using any of the facilities or treatments at Yorkshire EC, it is essential that you understand our terms and conditions.
By booking any services, you agree to adhere to all rules and regulations established by Yorkshire EC concerning the facilities or services. Failure to comply with these rules may result in termination of the booking, and clients may be asked to leave the premises.

Bookings & Payment:

All treatments, therapy sessions, and courses require full payment at the time of booking. Without cleared payment your booking is provisional and if someone else books and pays for it, you will lose the slot.

In Patient Livery Stays require 50% payable on booking as deposit and the remains to be paid on day of arrival. Any charges incurred during the stay must be settled in full before the horse departs.

We accept payment by Cash, BACS or Credit/Debit card. Prices are all subject to vat.

Cancellation Policy and Refunds:

Cancellation or changes to walk in appointments must be requested at least 48 hours before the scheduled time to avoid being charged the full price. Missed appointments will also be charged in full.

In Patient Livery cancellation or changes must be requested at least 5 days before the scheduled dates. If less than 5 days notice you will lose the 50% initial deposit payment.

Refunds for unused treatments within the use by period may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Yorkshire EC management.

If sessions have been block-booked and paid in advance or a  package has been set up there will be no refunds for unused treatments within the use by period. If you do not arrive for your appointment without proper notice we will deduct this treatment from the block.

Yorkshire EC reserve the right on certain occasions due to unforeseen circumstances to cancel sessions at short notice. In these cases, it may be necessary to re-schedule or rearrange a session. This will always be done having provided as much notice as is possible and practicable. In cases of unforeseen circumstances, transfer of sessions, refunds or partial refunds will be considered at discretion and therefore there can be no guarantee that any refund will be provided.

Expiry and Use by Dates of Purchases:

Blocks of treatments, and packages have a expiry date of six months from the date of purchase.

Single treatment purchases and gift vouchers have a expiry date of six months from the date of purchase.

Expiry dates may be extended or purchases transferred in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Yorkshire EC management.

Duration of Sessions
The therapy / treatment session may be for an agreed length of time and will last a predetermined number of minutes.

If you are late for the session additional time can be given at the end only at the sole discretion of YEC. This should not be expected as an entitlement and only if convenient to YEC.

Risks and Outcomes:

Treatments and therapies can have benefits as well as risks, which can be discussed with Yorkshire EC staff.
It's essential to understand that individual outcomes may vary, and there are no guarantees regarding the effectiveness or what will be achieved from any treatment. To fully experience the benefits, we recommend regular participation in sessions.

If you have any concerns about your horse's current medical condition or any allergies, we strongly advise consulting your veterinarian before proceeding with any treatment. It's crucial to note that while our treatments aim to support your horse's well-being, they are not intended as cures for any diseases or conditions. This distinction is neither implied nor should it be inferred.

Furthermore, it's important to recognise that our treatments complement but do not replace veterinary care or advice. The Veterinary Surgery Act of 1966 (amended 1996) stipulates that only qualified veterinary surgeons can diagnose ailments and provide advice on such diagnoses. Therefore, we encourage you to seek veterinary guidance for any health concerns your horse may have.

Health & Safety on Site:

All individuals entering the treatment areas do so at their own risk and must dress appropriately, including wearing personal protective equipment such as sturdy non-slip footwear. Anyone not wearing personal protective clothing does so at their own risk.

Any horse deemed by staff as a risk to the health and safety of personnel will have their treatment postponed and may be asked to leave until it can be carried out safely. Full payment of the session will still be applicable.

Horses presenting with abnormal signs of possible illness, such as a raised temperature or abnormal nasal discharge, will not be permitted to receive treatments unless authorised by a vet. In Patient Stay will be required to complete a health declaration form within 24hr before arrival.

Copies of passports and evidence of up-to-date vaccinations are required upon booking, and passports will be checked on arrival.
Refunds will not be given in the event that you do not provide proof of vaccination compliance at the time of the session.

All horses must be clean and free of mud on attending the water treadmill. Hooves, legs/hooves/belly must be washed, and horses must arrive with their tails appropriately bandaged with the tail not hanging below the dock. Legs and hooves will be re-washed on-site.

No horses with cuts or abrasions on the legs will be permitted for treatment on the water treadmill and no refunds for sessions missed due to these conditions will be made except for exceptional circumstances and at the proprietors discretion.

Horses legs and hooves will be sprayed with equine specific disinfectant before and after the session. Please be aware that the treadmill water may contain safe animal and human grade chlorine in. If used the treadmill has a sophisticated computerised dosage system, to ensure correct mixtures each time.  â€¨â€¨

All horses must wear a bridle / chifney for their first hydrotherapy session to ensure health and safety for horse and handler.
In the event that a horse requires sedation prior to any treatment, the owner must take responsibility and contact their vet to arrange and inform us at the time of booking.  All horses must be well handled.
If your horse develops an infectious or contagious condition during the course of treatment at Yorkshire EC, please notify us immediately.

Kindly inform us of any behavioural problems or vices your horse may have prior to treatment.

Ensure that your horse is properly shod, and that nail heads are no longer prominent. Shoes with road nails or studs are not allowed on the treadmill. Any damage caused to equipment due to broken or loose shoes or shoe fixings will incur charges accordingly.
